Israel is certain to face Hizbullah rocket attacks on northern Israel in the future similar to the near-daily attacks that have been launched from the Gaza Strip, OC Northern Command Maj.-Gen Benny Gantz said Thursday.

While Hizbullah has in the past fired rockets at northern border towns, Gantz said that now 30 percent of Israel is within the range of Hizbullah's rockets.

"I am not aware of any non-state organization that has such capabilities in the world," Gantz said.

He quoted CIA Director George Tenet as saying that the Iranian-financed and Syrian-backed Hizbullah is "an equal if not a far more capable" organization than al-Qaida.
